A letter of application

Cyber-Angels organization,
1 fleet street
New York city

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am an 11th grader who studies at Kugel high school in Holon, and I have recently read about Cyber-Angels. I was deeply impressed with your work. I have always believed virtual harassment to be extremely dangerous, since so many people do not have the knowledge to deal with it. As a person who has much experience in the field of internet use, I wish to contribute my help to the poor victims of this unfair phenomenon.

Since a very young age, my love for the computer and the Internet was very noticeable. During the years, I have acquired a lot of useful knowledge and experience in the field, and nowadays I spend most of my spear time in various chat rooms and websites. I have also taken some advanced computer courses, from which I learned a variety of techniques to make my internet use as safe as possible.

I understand that your work is based on teaching the victim to defend himself. I, personally, love to share my acquired skills and techniques by teaching it to others, and have also some experience in doing that. Last year, I volunteered in a special organization, which was founded to teach pensioners to use the Internet, and I was considered one of the most devoted teachers there.

To conclude, I believe that I am fairly suitable to be a part of your organization because of my knowledge in the field, and my experience in teaching others. Therefore, I wish to apply for being a cyber-angel myself, and believe I can contribute to your fight against cyber-crime greatly.

I look forward to your replay.
Yours truly,

Amir Zloter.

Virtual Classes

A new form of learning has recently begun to take place in the World Wide Web. In those virtual schools, students are given the opportunity to learn via the internet, instead of the traditional frontal lessons. Those virtual classes are supervised by certified teachers, and the idea is to replace the traditional ones.

Virtual classes have proven themselves to have several advantages. Learning through the internet allows every student to learn at his own personal pace, since most of the learning is done individually by each student, with the help of the teacher. This fact makes the learning very productive and fitting for each student's own level. Moreover, by using the net, the students get an access to unlimited sources of information, and that may enrich their education greatly.

However, giving up on real life schools brings upon some noticeable disadvantages. A lot of technical difficulties may rise while using the internet, and they might make it very frustrating. In addition, the virtual classes miss one of the most important objectives of going to school: the social gathering. Teenagers today are criticized because they spend too much time on the computer, instead of going out of the house, while this form of learning only increases the teens’ time spent indoors.

I believe that this new form of learning is certainly unique and fitting for the new age of technology. I think that this wonderful idea marks a great development in education because it raises the students’ curiosity and their motivation. However, I also believe that it should not replace the traditional frontal classes, since this might cause some negative outcomes for the teens’ social abilities.

Very good work.
